OTV being the first private satellite TV channel in Odisha carries the onus of charting a course that behoves its pioneering efforts. Accordingly its charter objectives are : FREE, FAIR and UNBIASED
OTV shall maintain the highest standards of professionalism and ethics in electronic media. Primarily, this shall mean its editorial independence (in accordance with this charter) and fair and unbiased coverage.
FREE- It shall not restrain itself from coverage of any issue of public interest. It shall not shirk from covering controversial issues, either political, social or otherwise. Its coverage shall be candid and not attempt to tone down “unpalatable” facts.
FAIR – It shall make every endeavor to be balanced i.e. to provide coverage of as many sides of an issue as possible. It must recognize that, at the least, there are two sides to a story and both must be put across.
UNBIASED – It shall avoid editorializing i.e. expressing its own views. It shall not pursue an agenda or try to convince its audience of any point of view. It shall put across as many views on any issue as possible and allow the viewer to decide on the matter for himself / herself.
